Animal Control Officer

Patrol city streets to locate & capture stray animals roaming city streets or public areas. Enforce pertinent animal control ordinances while maintaining strict adherence to established humane methods to capture, handle, and transport stray animals.  Will work on designated rotating shifts while patrolling the City and respond to emergency situations.  Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and must be able to physically handle large aggressive animals without undue harm to the animal or endangering him/herself.

911 / EMERGENCY TELECOMMUNICATOR

$27,992 Starting Salary

Operate multi-line phone system, answer 911 emergency telephone calls, and dispatch calls to responding field units. Must have high school diploma or equivalent, be 18 years of age or older, type 35 WPM, possess strong verbal/written skills, & multi-task in a high stress environment.  Applicants are subject to a background investigation, suitability screening test, polygraph, drug test and successfully complete a 5 week training course at the Dept. of Criminal Justice Training/Eastern KY University in Richmond, KY.  Prior public safety training/experience desired.

FIREFIGHTER EMT OR FIREFIGHTER PARAMEDIC 
($40,033 annual salary plus $4,000 Incentive, plus $3,500 Paramedic Stipend or $1,200 EMT Stipend, after all training & certifications)

 

Applicants must be 21 years of age, eligible to work in the U.S., high school graduate or equivalent, in excellent physical condition, be Paramedic or EMT Certified (those currently enrolled in an EMT course will be considered) and possess a valid driver's license.  Applicants having a felony conviction will not be considered.  Applicants MUST submit copies of birth certificate, driver's license, high school diploma or GED, EMT certification, and separation from military service form DD214 (members copy 4) if applicable.
