“Sounds of Memphis” features the city’s full gamut of connections to rock, blues, and soul music. From Carl Perkins to B.B. King, to Otis Redding, to Elvis and more, the Badgett Playhouse ensemble share a little something for everyone’s musical tastes. Roll down the history of Memphis music with Booker T and the MGs, Otis Redding and more with this top notch cast of musicians and vocalists.
Picnic table seating is available first-come under the cover of the Founders Square pavilion but attendees are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs – and an appetite for the food trucks on hand. Fire and Ice, Dee’s Barbecue and Heather’s Homemade Ice Cream will have their specialties for sale. Beer and wine will also be available as a fundraiser for the Christian County Rescue Squad.
“The cast of Badgett Playhouse attracts a large following for their many different productions at their home venue in nearby Grand Rivers. All of their shows are themed and are on par with offerings you’d see in Branson, MO. ‘Sounds of Memphis’ will be a wonderful road trip down the history of rock, blues and soul,” said Tab Brockman, Parks and Recreation Superintendent.
“Elvis fans are in for a special treat when the show features nationally-known Terry Mike Jeffries with his Elvis renditions during this outstanding show,” Brockman added.
