Mayor Carter Hendricks took office as Hopkinsville’s second youngest mayor on January 1, 2015.  In addition, Mayor Hendricks currently owns Momentum Consulting, a company focused on helping businesses and organizations grow and create positive momentum. 

Mayor Hendricks has also served as the President/CEO of the Christian County Chamber of Commerce, a 900 member strong 5 star accredited chamber of commerce and 2013 Finalist for National Chamber of the Year, from 2010-2014.  Prior to his tenure as President/CEO, Hendricks served as the Senior Vice President and Military Affairs Director at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Chamber of Commerce from 2005-2009.

Mayor Hendricks’s previous professional experiences also include teacher, coach, after school supervisor, grant coordinator, college instructor, and AmeriCorps member.

Mayor Hendricks earned an undergraduate degree, Political Science and History major, from Western Kentucky University and a graduate degree, emphasis on education, from Concordia University-Saint Paul, MN. 

Mayor Hendricks’s professional recognitions and accomplishments include: graduate of the US Chamber’s Institute of Organization Management, recipient of the City of Hopkinsville Mayor’s Make Your Mark Award, recipient of the Sherry Jeffers Leadership Award through Leadership Hopkinsville, recipient of Kiwanian of the Year through Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club, graduate of Leadership Fort Campbell, recipient of the Pennryile Area Development District’s William B. Bryan Leadership Award, recipient of the National Area Development Organization’s Innovation Award, and recipient of various military recognitions and commendations.

Mayor Hendricks serves on a variety of local and regional boards and commissions.  Some of his current civic involvement includes serving as the Past President of the Hoptown Hoppers collegiate summer league team, Advisor to the President of the Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club,  board member for the Kentucky/Tennessee Chapter of the Association of the United States Army, and Deacon and Sunday School Director at Olivet Baptist Church in Herndon, Kentucky.

Mayor Hendricks is married to Faye Eleanor Hendricks and is the proud dad of Lily Kaye and Chase.
